MANITOWOC, WI – Local author Corey Geiger has added a stop to his inaugural book tour at the Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center, set for Saturday, May 15. The book signing event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the conference center.
Geiger, an international agriculture journalist, recently released his book, On A Wisconsin Family Farm, Historic Tales of Character, Community and Culture. In the book, Geiger pairs his rural roots and lively storytelling talents to capture six generations of local tales.
Interested attendees are invited to visit with Geiger and pick up a signed copy of his book throughout the event. Light refreshments, sponsored by Greendale Dairy, will be provided for those in attendance. Guests are also encouraged to stay for one of two formal presentations by Geiger, adding insight to the origins of the book and the stories inside. Presentations are set for 10 a.m. and noon.
Those who purchase Geiger’s book the day of the signing will each receive one complementary admission to the Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center experience.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Corey, a lifetime friend of Farm Wisconsin,” shares Patty Lehn, Farm Wisconsin executive director. “His book shares stories familiar to many people with a Wisconsin farming heritage, and highlights a journey that has propelled our state into the agriculture spotlight.”
Known to friends as the “Dancing Dairyman,” Geiger has danced his way onto Steve Harvey’s Family Feud television show, Texas Two-Stepped on the colored shavings at World Dairy Expo and competed at the Fred Astaire Cross Country Dance Competition. Geiger was an early supporter of Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center, serving as co-chair on the fundraising committee for the capital campaign. He remains true to his farming roots, managing the cropland and facility maintenance on his family’s farm that dates back to 1867.
