MANITOWOC, WI – County and state fair fans can get in the spirit of the fair early at Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center with pig racing, food, and fun. Farm Wisconsin’s Taste of the Fair, presented by Purina Animal Nutrition, takes place Saturday, June 18 and Sunday, June 19, allowing guests to celebrate Dad and kick-off fair season with their favorite fair foods and activities. Access to the Taste of the Fair is included with regular Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center admission – and Dads get in FREE Saturday and Sunday, when accompanied by a paying guest.

Guests may visit Farm Wisconsin for regular discovery center access starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 18. Pig and duck races kick off at noon, and follow at 2 p.m., 4 p.m., and 6 p.m. Sunday’s festivities begin at 11 a.m., with special Father’s Day hours for the discovery center from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday’s pig and duck races will be held at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Guests can enjoy their fair food favorites including BBQ pulled pork, mac & cheese, corn on the cob, mini corn dogs, cheese curds, chips, nachos and cheese, brats and burgers, and Cedar Crest ice cream. Adult beverages will also be available, featuring Wisconsin beer and specialty drinks.

“This is a fun way to enjoy Wisconsin agriculture and celebrate Dad in an extraordinary way,” says Patty Lehn, Farm Wisconsin Executive Director. “We’re thrilled to partner with Purina and Pleasure Valley to provide such a family-friendly fun.”

Guests have the opportunity to play carnival games, participate in an educational strawberry activity, see dairy cows in the Land O’Lakes Birthing Barn, and explore the many exhibits in the discovery center. Wisconsin State Fairest of the Fair, Jackie Rosenbush, will also be stopping by for a visit on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Farm Wisconsin admission rates are $16 for adults, $12 for seniors 65 and older, and $8 for kids 4-18. Kids 3 and younger are admitted free of charge. Farm Wisconsin members are also admitted free of charge. To inquire about membership or other offerings, visit www.farmwisconsin.org.
