MANITOWOC, WI – The Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center has announced special extended hours for the 2020 holiday season. Beginning on Wednesday, December 23, Farm Wisconsin will offer additional times and dates for guests to visit the discovery center.

Visitors can take advantage of the extended operating hours to immerse themselves in Wisconsin agriculture, shop for last-minute gifts at the Farm House store, and enjoy a scoop of ice cream from Ice Cream Acres.

“We are excited to offer a safe, family-oriented environment around the holidays, and know that sometimes families need those options around the holidays,” says Patty Lehn, Farm Wisconsin’s executive director. “Our wide-open spaces and air exchange increase our safety beyond the masks and social distancing measures we employ.”

COVID-19 Practices

Farm Wisconsin observes mask and social distancing requirements for employees and guests, and hand sanitizer is widely available throughout the facility. Additional sanitation practices are also in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The 29,000 square-foot facility creates natural distancing, but Farm Wisconsin also utilizes an open plenum HVAC system and economizers to circulate fresh air.

The Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center is a state-of-the-art, interactive agricultural education center located in Manitowoc County. Farm Wisconsin connects visitors’ curiosity to the wonder of Wisconsin farming and provides guests with a better understanding of their food sources and their importance. The center features 10,000 square feet of hands-on learning opportunities, and a birthing barn where visitors may watch calves being born daily.
