Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center is hosting a hands-on Farmer for a Day event from 10 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 13th. This event is included with Farm Wisconsin admission and offers families an opportunity to get up close and personal with many aspects of Wisconsin agriculture.
The whole family will find ways to connect their curiosity and discover what it means to be a modern farmer through diverse features and activities outside. Discover the inner workings of a tractor by checking the oil and tire pressure and getting an inside look at the machinery used to make our food. Learn more about the care of dairy cows by finding the heart rate on a calf and identifying different types of feeds. Kids and adults alike will enjoy the outdoor petting zoo. Grab a scoop of Cedar Crest ice cream and enjoy a wagon ride!
“We’re looking forward to bringing this popular event back to Farm Wisconsin, with a more hands-on activities,” explains Patty Lehn, Farm Wisconsin’s executive director. “The activities and features spread around the exterior areas of Farm Wisconsin’s grounds allows us to showcase elements of farming while maintaining safe social distancing.”
Tickets are available for purchase at the door or online at farmwisconsin.org/event. While Farmer for a Day takes place from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Farm Wisconsin is open 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
