The Science of Strawberries

Join local farmer, Terri Wilfert, as you dive into the world of Wisconsin strawberries.
Terri will share her insight on proper strawberry picking techniques, correct timing for washing the berries, and care instructions for your strawberries at home. Afterwards, she will demonstrate a family-favorite strawberry jam recipe and provide FREE SAMPLES to take home.
This event is included, at no extra cost, with paid admission to the Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center.

Meet the Producer: Terri Wilfert
Terri, along with her husband Dave, own and operate Wilfert Farms. Their family farm is located in Two Rivers, WI, just a few miles off the Lake Michigan coast. From a young age, Terri grew up raising calves and milking cows on her family’s dairy farm. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and earned a degree in agriculture. Together, Terri and Dave began raising vegetables over 31 years ago. Today, they offer a full line of produce from ‘A’sparagus to ‘Z’ucchini, including strawberries.
Strawberries for the jam demonstration will come directly from Wilfert Farms.
