Program and Marketing Intern
Position Overview:
The Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center (FWDC) is a 501c3 non-profit, interactive agricultural education center. Farm Wisconsin connects visitors’ curiosity to the wonders of Wisconsin farming and provides guests with a better understanding of their food sources. The Program and Marketing Intern will help fulfill this mission by increasing Farm Wisconsin’s online presence, implementing admission enhancements, and conveying the story of Wisconsin’s farmers and processors through various online and traditional channels.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a social media campaign aimed at increasing follower engagement
- Write press releases, blogs, and website copy
- Plan and implement admission enhancements to increase on-site traffic
- Support the creation of virtual and visual content
- Assist with special event planning and execution, on and off-site
- Participate in other duties for the good of co-workers and Farm Wisconsin
Required skills:
- Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
- Experience managing social media channels (beyond personal accounts)
- Proactive mindset and a self-starter attitude
- Comprehensive understanding of food production systems and a passion for Wisconsin agriculture
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Courteous attitude with a guest-first mentality
- Receptive to manager and co-worker feedback
- Motivated to work independently
Credentials:
- Actively pursing a BS or BA in communications, event planning, agriculture, or another related field
